Dr. Tingyi S. Lin is an Associate Professor at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology where she currently teaches courses in new media, strategic visual planning and visual information design. Currently, Tingyi serves as a board member in the International Committee on Design History and Studies and the Taiwan Society of Basic Design and Art. She cofounded and acts as the Executive Board of Design Network for Emergency Management. As a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago 2017-2018, Tingyi S. Lin is also an information designer, visual storyteller, strategic planner, her creative arts and design interests lie in visual communication in still and motion forms. She has received awards and honors for her work in video production, graphic creation, and design research. Her creative art/design interests include graphic design, video production, and computer/multimedia art. Tingyi also conducts design research in the field of fundamental design, strategic visual planning, user-centered design and information design. Her visual language and information design focus on the art, design, and human learning fields. Tingyi publishes research papers, attends international conferences in different regions and also provides lectures and speeches overseas to the USA, Japan, China, Austria and Germany.
