Fedja Vukić is a full professor of design theory and history at the School of Design, Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Professional training includes m.sc in History and Theory of Visual Arts at University of Split, Croatia and ph.d thesis in design theory at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Fellow of The Wolfsonian Foundation/Florida International University Research Center, Miami Beach 1995. Publishes reviews, articles and scholarly papers on visual communication and design in Croatian and international journals. Has published and edited several books on design, including Modern Zagreb (1992), Building on the Borders (1995), A Century of Croatian Design (1996), Zagreb, Modernity and the City (2003), Modernism in Practice (2008), Croatian Design Now (with Victor Margolin, 2008), Design Theory and History, a Critical Anthology (2012), City as an Identity System (2013) and The Other Design History (2015). Advisory Board member of the Journal of Design History, Editorial Board member of New Design Ideas journal. Convenor of ICDHS 12 conference Lessons to Learn, Past Design Experiences in Contemporary Design Practices in 2020. Has lectured widely in Europe and USA.
